Paranormalcy

Paranormalcy
Author: Kiersten White
Book #1 of the Paranormalcy series
Pages: 335
My Rating: 5/5 stars

Summary: (From Goodreads)
Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.
But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.

My Review:
Oh my goodness! Paranormalcy was bleeping awesome! (Ha, ha, ha, do you get it, bleeping? Well, it's sortive a joke in the book.........so you'll have to read it to find out!) This is one book that you do not want to miss-for the awesome paranormal world and plot twists. Maybe it sounds unoriginal, but there is plenty that is original.

You are also in for a total roller coaster ride! I am not even kidding-at first glance, this book looks like your typical paranormal read, with vampires and werewolves and faeries, then the twist of a paranormal agency added, but it is so much more! This book evolved into something else, with lots of shocking surprises and unexpected turns- I had so many questions! Paranormalcy goes into an area that is not typical "paranormal" (as in vampires, etc,) but something totally different. There is no way I could have seen it coming, and I devoured it.

Evie has a very sarcastic, hilarious, and energetic voice that really gets this book going. She was sassy, and there were many comments and thoughts of hers that had me smiling and laughing. Lend, he was so mysterious and an awesome character-he won my heart too! Reth plain creeped me out, though I definitely want to hear more from him. Vivian. Oh, Vivian. I can't talk about her too much, for fear of giving things away, but I want to hear more from her, too! She was such a creepy character who flat-out bugged me, but I want to learn more about her-doesn't she have the key for Evie? So Evie can figure everything out?

Paranormalcy is an awesome read, and it's so cute and fluffy, but scary at the same time! My heart was pounding and I raced through this book. I loved it, so naturally, no duh............BOOK TWO! NOW. I WANT IT.

I LOVED this book too! There were so many more hyped books this year, but so many of them disappointed. This one, however, was a total delight!
