City of Bones

City of Bones
Author: Cassandra Clare
Pages: 485
Book #1 of The Mortal Instruments
My Rating: 5/5 stars

Summary: (From Goodreads)
When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing - not even a smear of blood - to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know....

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

My Review:

Awesome. Plain awesome. I loved this book. I could give it a huge hug, so big of a hug, it would probably crunch it. There is so much action, and City of Bones is entertaining, hilarious.......with the best cast of characters.

I just mentioned the characters in the last paragraph, so I thought I'd talk about the characters first. They are freaking awesome! Truely. Cassandra Clare has created an awesome, amazing, hilarious, strong, strange cast of characters. They blew me away, and I will never forget them. Normally, a character such as Clary would annoy me alot, but I did like her. She was quite strong, and maybe the reason I did like her was because she stood up for herself. As for Simon, I honestley did love Jace better. I'm not saying Simon was a bad character, and I did love how his and Clary's friendship was very strong and clear, and it showed how they cared for eachother. But............Jace. Simon can't even compare to Jace. I loved Jace, and now I have another book crush to think about. He was hilarious and hot. I seemed so tortured, and well, the way the plot twisted, poor Jace and Clary.

I can't say the plot was the most original I have ever seen, but it was extremley entertaining, and added an extra element to this story. There were things, too, that were unexpected. I want to delve into another adventure in City of Ashes!

City of Bones is hilarious. There were so many lines that were SO FUNNY, I found myself laughing out loud, plain cracking up, and ended up telling everybody I know. Can't wait for more laughs! This is a book you really shouldn't pass up, it's hilarious, incredible, and unforgettable. It was smart, and an awesome ride that thrilled me.
