Summary: (From Publisher)
The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And—most importantly of all—she can finally call Jace her boyfriend.
But nothing comes without a price.
Someone is murdering Shadowhunters, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second, bloody war. Clary's best friend, Simon, can't help her. His mother just found out that he's a vampire and now he's homeless. Everywhere he turns, someone wants him on their side—along with the power of the curse that's wrecking his life. And they're willing to do anything to get what they want. Not to mention that he's dating two beautiful, dangerous girls—neither of whom knows about the other one.
When Jace begins to pull away from her without explaining why, Clary is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: she herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.
Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. The stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.
My Review:
Woah. This book was intense, insane (in a good way!) shocking, awesome, and much much more! But what else can you expect from Cassandra Clare and Jace?
I definitely loved the plot in City of Fallen Angels. There were plenty of awesome fight scenes, not to mention twists and turns. I had a lot of fun trying to guess what was going to happen next. I felt like City of Fallen Angels was made of an awesome and original plot that is setting up for SO much more. (Seriously.....that ending......AH!)
The other thing that I loved about this book was the romance! This book was full of romantic moments that had me sighing. I loved all the Jace and Clary moments. But I also loved the Simon and Isabelle moments towards the end. I had a total awwww moment at one point. Not to mention Alec and Magnus, who I and everyone else loves! Reading about Maia and Jordan was something that I really enjoyed as well, and I hope they have a future.
And speaking of that special somebody, who is awesome, a total bad ass, and hot? Why Jace, of course! Jace. He totally deserves his own paragraph. Okay, he totally deserves an entire review, or even an entire blog dedicated just to him. (I bet he would like that, too.) I couldn't help but fall completely in love with him again, just like I did in every other book. I felt so bad for him in this book, though. Poor, tortured Jace. There were a few times where I was screaming and begging for mercy for him. Jace. Sigh.
All the other characters were back, plus a few new additions. Clare does an amazing job of creating a cast of characters that literally fly right off the page. I love how they are all different, and each are so entertaining to read about. I am looking forward to hearing more from all of them in the next book! They each got their moments to shine in City of Fallen Angels.....let's hope for that again in the next book. But Jace gets more of the spotlight. He's Jace, after all!

Overall, City of Fallen Angels was another awesome edition to the Mortal Instruments series, and I can't wait for my next fix on a Cassandra Clare book!
